Twenty years of investment in the KRI
Genel signed its first PSC in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in 2002 and was the first company to do so. Since this time Genel has been integral in the development of the oil industry in the region and has made a material social and economic contributions.
We invested approximately $1 billion in the Taq Taq field alone, which produced over 200 MMbbls and generated over $9 billion in revenue for the Kurdistan Regional Government. Direct employment and the building up of local supply chains has also made a positive impact on local communities, while our social activities have supported key community needs.
